Mr. Jonathan B. Majiyagbe, S.A.N. - Principal Partner
Jonathan obtained his law degree from the University of London. He was admitted to the Bars of England and Wales (Honourable Society of the Middle Temple) and Nigeria in 1964 and 1966 respectively.
He was elevated to silk and conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 1980.
He is a former member of the Body of Benchers (the body responsible for the screening and admission of lawyers to the Nigerian Bar); Past Vice-President of the Nigerian Bar Association; member of the International Bar Association (Business Law section) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a former member of the Interim Judicial Service Committee, Kano State and the Editorial board of the Journal of Nigeria Law.
In 2003, Jonathan made history by becoming the first African to be appointed the Worldwide President of Rotary International, a 100 years old humanitarian service organization with over 1.2 million members.
He is a Trustee of the Rotary Foundation, a former Chancellor of the Anglican Diocese of Kano, the Chairman of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Kano Branch, a Notary Public and Coroner for Kano State.
Jonathan specialises in Litigation and Arbitration, Corporate law, Intellectual Property and Aviation law.
